You may not believe me, but you can earn $100 a day online from practically anywhere in the world. This could be while working at home, on the road, or at a resort in another country. It's not easy though, and there's no way to earn fast cash overnight. It takes a lot of work to get started.

Imagine, for example, that you earn $48,000 per year at your job. That's $4,000 base pay that you make per month. If you earned extra income from an online side gig even in the numbers of $400 per month, or $100 per week, that's effectively a 10% raise.
This is great if you want to earn some extra cash, however I'm going to talk about how to do more so that you can earn money long term. And what I'm going to go over below are 19 brilliant ways to make money online as a beginner and how to earn greater than $100 per day. You can then use your newly earned money to pay down debt and invest for the long term.
Ready? Let's talk about how you can start making money while working from home or anywhere you choose. Here's some business ideas to get you started.
Transcription is when you listen to audio and type what you hear. You'll generally listen to a conversation, lecture, or broadcast, and write it up, noting who said what.
Websites like Rev pay between $0.30 and $1.10 per audio minute. That means if you're transcribing a 10-minute audio recording, you could get paid up to $11. Assuming that it takes you three times as long to transcribe as the audio is long, you're earning $11 in 30 minutes or approximately $22 per hour.
If you spend a good part of your day doing transcription, not only can you earn over $100 extra cash per day, but you will get faster and more accurate. This means you'll earn more per hour.
Realistically, you'll have to train yourself to be amazing at transcription. It takes time to become quick and efficient, but with enough practice, you can certainly earn a few thousand dollars per month doing transcription.
2. Editing & Proofreading
There's something relaxing about reading other people's writing. Wouldn't you love to get paid for editing and proofreading others' work? Lucky for you, you can get paid to do just this.
The best way to get started with editing and proofreading is to sign up for Grammarly. Grammarly is an app that checks spelling and grammar as well as provides suggestions to your writing style. I have used Grammarly from day one of this blog. There's both a free version and a paid version; the paid version having enhanced features that I personally love.
You can earn between $20-$40 an hour doing editing and proofreading if you're talented at catching errors. You could start an entire online business doing this and easily make $100 per day or more.
It pays to be well versed in the language of the document you're editing, but in the case of English, using Grammarly for proofreading is a great way to make money online as a beginner.
When you start off, it may take time to get clients, and you may want to charge less until you've built up a steady clientele and have networked well. Once you have regular customers, it's certainly possible to earn $100 per day doing proofreading, which adds up to over $3000 per month earned online.
3. Translating Documents and Audio
Are you bilingual or multilingual? Translation services are necessary every day. We live in a global economy where nations are entwined, and communication between multiple languages is constantly required.
If you speak more than one language, you can turn that skill into an income source. By offering your skills as a translator, you can work online from the comfort of your own home.
Some translators charge between $20 and $40 per hour. If you have regular clients, you could even replace your full-time income with this online work. If you speak more exotic languages you could earn extra money.
A website like Speakt is a great place to get started as a translator. Check out Speakt if you're interested in making money online translating.
4. Creating A Blog
Do you have something you're passionate about that you know others are passionate about as well? If you have a knack for writing or simply know what your audience is after, you could start a blog.
Blogs definitely don't have to be about personal finance, though. Some other popular blog topics include:
- Web Design
- DIY Crafts
There's really no limits to how much money you can make by blogging. That said, less than 9% of bloggers make over $1000 per month, so if you plan to go this route, do your research and take it seriously. A successful blog can most certainly replace a full-time job, but it often takes a few years to get enough traction to do so.
With enough high-quality content created, you can make $100 per day passively through ads, affiliate marketing, products, and more.
To write a blog, you'll need a web host. I personally use Bluehost for blogging, and they're a great place to get started. Bluehost starts at $3.95 per month, and a low price like this will allow you to learn while on a budget.

Copywriting involves writing marketing content or advertisements for others. If you're savvy with wording and can write compelling content, you could work from home as a copywriter.
A skilled copywriter can make over $100 per hour. If you have the ability to write persuasive content, this might be the job for you. If you're big on writing but don't know much about copywriting, take an online course and learn more.
Writing persuasive content is always in high demand because good copy can be the make or break for large sales. In business-to-business (B2B) environments, good copy can land million-dollar transactions, which is, in part, why skilled copywriters can charge so much. Using a tool like Grammarly will help you improve your writing, which, in turn, will help you make more money copywriting.
You can also use Grammarly for any other forms of writing that you may do.
6. Video Editing
With the millions of people who use YouTube out there, many of them either don't have the time or don't have the skill to make their videos shine. To make money online video editing, your job is to make videos stand out compared to your client's competitors.
You'll edit out mistakes, work on sound quality, and create effects using tools such as Adobe Premiere.
Video editors can make a wide range of money, depending on who your clients are and how good you are. Some charge as little as $30 per hour, where others charge up to $100 per hour and more.
As you get better at editing videos for money, you can up your rate and find more clients. Video editing is definitely an online service that you can do part time or full time.
I recommend looking for work as a video editor at Upwork or Fiverr. There's a lot of competition but by having a portfolio, you can stand out among others. You can also consider reaching out to YouTubers who you feel your services could benefit.
7. Photo Editing & Graphic Design
I learned how to use photo editing software when I played the online game Final Fantasy XIV. I set up an in-game photo studio where players would bring their characters. I would then take pictures of them in their favorite in-game outfits. I would then export the image to an online editor and greatly enhance their photos.
Photo editors can earn between $30 and $80 per hour on average, which depends on your skill and niche.
When you do graphic design, you can set your own rates based on the quality of your imagery. Some people charge $50 for a logo, while others charge hundreds. There is a lot of money to be made in graphic design, which you can do full time or in your spare time.
8. Be A Virtual Assistant
Many small business owners need one or more virtual assistants to keep their businesses up and running 24/7. If you live in a nation where the cost of living is lower than that of America, you can offer to be a virtual assistant for an American small business owner and be paid $20-$30 USD an hour. By having one busy client or a few clients in general, you can definitely make $100 per day or more.
That's why people from other countries, including ex-pats, can live well by having an online job such as being a virtual assistant.
A virtual assistant does tasks such as website updates, checking emails, responding to blog comments, managing social media, and more. The field can be highly competitive, but being a virtual assistant allows you to work anywhere you want.
A great way to find a job as a virtual assistant is to reach out to bloggers and other small business owners in various Facebook groups. For example, there are many blogging Facebook groups out there where bloggers regularly ask for recommendations for Virtual Assistants.
9. Sell Stuff Online
E-Commerce is an enormous industry that has blown up in recent decades. Selling things on sites such as Amazon, Etsy, Shopify, eBay, and other places can earn you thousands upon thousands of dollars.
Whether you're into crafts or get into a print-on-demand business; Whether you sell printables or resell items such as collectibles that you find at local garage sales (for example).; There is an absolutely amazing market out there for selling online.
It can take time to get started. You'll want to do market research and find out what you can sell and how you'll obtain those items. Once you get going and have streamlined the process, you'll be in good shape.
There's a whole niche out there for buying and selling online. It's often not hard to earn fash cash by shopping at garage sales and thrift stores and then reselling what you buy online through an online store.
10. Teach Online Via Courses
Teaching online courses is an amazing way to make money. This is the most brilliant way to make money online, in my opinion. The first thing you do is to learn a lot about a specific topic. Then, using your knowledge, you'll want to create a way to aggregate it all in one place.
This is where a course comes in. By providing something of great value, you'll be able to sell your knowledge to those interested in your field. You'll essentially become versed in your field and pass that knowledge to others who were in your shoes not too long ago.
11. Fill out Online Surveys for Cash
While not the most exciting way to earn more, you can fill out surveys online from websites using your desktop or mobile device. Most online survey sites can earn you $100-$200 per month, and when you combine multiple sites together, you can earn several hundred dollars a month.
Completing online surveys requires minimal effort, and you can do it from anywhere. This includes while lying in bed, waiting at a doctor's office, sitting on the train, or even at work during your break!
Check out these four online survey sites:
12. Affiliate Marketing
You'll notice that every post on The Dollar Blogger has an affiliate disclosure on it. Many links on this site are affiliate links, meaning if a reader clicks through and performs some action, I am compensated. This is called affiliate marketing.
Advertisers compensate me for talking about their products and sending potential customers their way. You can do this with or without a blog, though I highly recommend using a blog or at least a landing page to do so.
To get started, you can sign up for one or more affiliate programs. I recommend the following:
In an affiliate network, you can search for providers to promote. It's a good idea to promote only a few companies at a time. This way, you're building up trust with your audience as you continue to promote the same companies.
You can promote on a blog, on Pinterest, on YouTube, or through paid advertising on places such as Facebook and Google.
If you want to promote on Pinterest and really see your commissions boost, I highly recommend Big Pin Energy, one of the best guides I've seen for Pinterest.
It covers everything from the basics of setting up Pinterest boards, how often to pin, how to write effective titles and descriptions for Pinterest SEO, and much more. The guide comes packed with examples as well. Big Pin Energy allowed me to gain 3 times more views and clicks. That's why I highly recommend it.
13. Business/Blog Coaching
Online business or blog coaching is a lucrative way to make money online. A coach is someone who mentors their clients and helps them grow their business.
A blog coach, for example, may help clients grow their blogs, gain more traffic, come up with a product or service offer, and help the blogger earn money in their online endeavours.
As a blogging coach or a general business coach, you may create a program that teaches your client about how to write good content, how to use common technologies, how to run day to day operations, how to outsource when there’s too much to do. You may also provide information with how to create email marketing campaigns and how to sell to your client’s audience.
To become a coach, you’ll want to have experience in whatever area you’re providing advice in. For example, if you’re coaching about blogging, you’ll ideally have a successful blog or have sold a successful blog at some point in the past.
Coaches make a wide variety of money online. Some coaches charge by the hour whereas many have programs that you buy into. As a coach, you may offer a monthly group program to your clients or a highly specialized one-on-one program. A coach I worked with charged $2800 for her six month group program, which included once per week live group calls and loads of pre-recorded content, along with marketing and sales templates. Her one-on-one coaching runs closer to $2500 per month.
With this in mind, you can see how coaching can be a lucrative way to make money online.
14. Digital Products
Digital products can be an amazing way to make money online as a beginner. One popular digital product is printables. Printables are popular on blogs and on Etsy. Printables can be anything from calendars, budgets, planners, to-do lists, and a lot more.
Other digital products include meal planners, wedding planners, fitness trackers, calorie trackers, and similar.
With digital products, you can sell an unlimited number of copies of something you create one time. For example, if you were to create financial tracking planner that included a budget, debt payoff sheet, savings goal sheet, and other money-tracking printables, you might sell it for $20. Going forward, you would earn $20 per sale, meaning if you sold 1 planner per day, you would earn approximately $600 per month.
A great part about selling digital products online is that the income becomes mostly passive once you’re established.
15. Investment Gains
Making money from investments is a more passive way to make money online, and even beginners can do this. Investing in index funds and dividend ETFs will allow you to make money without having to pay too much attention.
Let’s say you invest $1,000 into a fund that has an average growth of 8% per year. At the end of the first year, you would have $1,080, or a gain of $80. If your fund kept growing at 8% per year and you never invested any more money into it, you would have $2,159 at the end of 10 years. That means you more than doubled your money for not touching it for 10 years. Not bad, right?
In another example, let’s say you invest $100 per month, every month, for 30 years. We’ll also assume an 8% growth per year.
Doing some simple math, you can see that $100 times 12 months times 30 years means you invested $36,000 in total. But, because of compound interest, you will end up with $149,036 instead, meaning $113,036 of that money was earned from growth.
Since investing is done online through banks and brokerage firms and many of these firms offer assistance to help new investors earn the most with their money, you can see how this is a great way to make money online for beginners.
16. Peer-to-Peer Lending
Peer-to-Peer (P2P) lending is a lucrative way to make money online and is similar to investing. A platform such as Prosper allows you to lend money to people seeking money for various reasons such as paying off credit cards, refinancing debt, putting an addition on their house, funding an event, and more.
A potential borrower may need $10,000, and as a lender, you may lend them a small portion of that amount, such as $25. With your $25 and $25 from a few hundred other lenders, the total $10,000 is lent to the borrower. The borrower then pays back the loan with interest and all of the lenders receive their share plus interest each month.
P2P lending is riskier than traditional investing however it’s possible to rake in more money via higher interest rates. P2P lending also generally doesn’t follow market results, meaning you can still make decent money from lending money when the stock market is experiencing high volatility.
Interest rates vary on P2P lending platforms, but on Prosper, for example, rates range from 7.95% to 35.99%, according to Bankrate.com. Prosper notes that most investors see a return between 3.4% and 10% for their higher risk loans. This is likely because it’s possible for a borrower to default on their loan, causing a loss in total return across all loans that you as a lender are earning money on.
With YouTube, you can make money in a few different ways. If you have a lot of views, you can earn money with YouTube ads. Additionally, if you review products, you can provide affiliate links to the products you discuss on video. If you sell a product or service, you can link to your sales page on videos where you discuss how you can help potential clients.
YouTube is quite competitive but even a beginner can make money online through YouTube if you’re providing great value to people and picking up traffic.
It may take a year or longer to gain traction on YouTube, but it’s possible to earn over $100 per day on the platform if you have many popular videos that are regularly receiving views. This, of course, takes time and dedication, and while some YouTubers do earn a living making videos, it can be challenging to get ahead of all the competition out there.
18. Flipping Websites
Flipping websites can be an interesting way to make money online that even a beginner can do. The website, Flippa allows you to buy and sell websites.
It can be frustrating to start a website from scratch because Google ranks high authority websites, and authority takes time to build. With Flippa, you can buy a website that already has authority and enhance it further so that it’s earning more money. From there, you can then flip the website and sell it for considerably more than what you paid for it.
One thing to look for on Flippa is how the site is monetizing currently. If you’re buying a site that is only monetizing through ad revenue, like Adsense, that means there are many opportunities for growth.
As an example for selling websites, many blogs are valued at two to four times their annual income. This means if a blog is earning $1000 per month, or $12,000 per year, it might sell between $24,000 and $48,000 to a potential buyer.
If the buyer could then increase the blog’s monthly earnings to $2,000 over 12 months, they could hypothetically sell the site for $48,000 to $96,000. That’s a nice chunk of change for 12 months of work.
19. Writing an eBook
Writing an eBook is not only a profitable way to make money online, but it’s also a form of passive income. An eBook can be self-published on Amazon or sold directly through a website that the author owns. Ebooks vary on topic and there’s so many things one can write about.
The more helpful your eBook is and the better you market it, the more sales you’re likely to make. If you specialize in a specific niche, it might make sense to write several eBooks about different topics you’re knowledgeable in.
If you sell your eBook for $10 per copy and sell 30 copies per month, that’s $300 in passive income that you’re earning.
Ebooks generally have little costs associated with them, which can make writing one great for making cash on the side.
