Hey there! In this post, I'm going to talk about another one of my favorite topics: how to make money online for beginners. I'm going to cover 12 of these ways to make money online and go over why you should consider doing one or more of them to better help you make more money and, if it applies to you, stop living paycheck to paycheck.
Can I Make $100 a Day Online?
You might ask yourself, “Can I really make money online? Isn't that some sort of scam, or isn't it unrealistic?” Sure, it might sound that way. If I told you that you could make upwards of $100 per day or more in the comfort of your living room, or at a hotel, or while on vacation in another country, you might think I'm nuts.
But what I'm going to talk about in this post will hopefully make you see things in another light. Earning money online is the ultimate side hustle, and the side income you earn from making money online can take you places that your 9-5 job never could.

Imagine, for example, that you earn $48,000 per year at your job. That's $4,000 base pay that you make per month. If you earned extra income from an online side gig even in the numbers of $400 per month, or $100 per week, that's effectively a 10% raise.
But that's not enough for me. I want to tell you how to make more than just extra cash. And what I'm going to go over below are 12 brilliant ways to make money online as a beginner and how to earn greater than $100 per day. You can then use your newly earned money to pay down debt and invest for your future.
Ready? Let's talk about how you can start making money while working from home or anywhere you choose. Here's some business ideas to get you started.
1. Software Testing
You don't need to be an expert to get into freelance software testing. In fact, by not being an expert, you might be a better candidate for testing. There's a website called Usertesting.com, where you'll get paid to test software while speaking your thoughts out loud.
In fact, you'll get paid $10 for every 20-minute video that you complete. You'll be asked to complete a set of tasks and speak about your experience, such as stating how difficult or easy the tasks are or how intuitive the software or websites are that you're testing.
At $10 per 20 minutes, you could definitely make $20 an hour if you do tests consistently. If you do this for a good part of your day, it's easy to make $100 per day.
2. Editing & Proofreading
There's something relaxing about reading other people's work. Wouldn't you love to get paid for editing and proofreading others' work? Lucky for you, you can get paid to do just this.
The best way to get started with editing and proofreading is to sign up for Grammarly. Grammarly is an app that checks spelling and grammar as well as provides suggestions to your writing style. I have used Grammarly from day one of this blog. There's both a free version and a paid version; the paid version having enhanced features that I personally love.
You can earn between $20-$40 an hour doing editing and proofreading if you're talented at catching errors. You could start an entire online business doing this and easily make $100 per day or more. If that's not a brilliant way to make money from home while online, then let's move on to the next.
It pays to be well versed in the language of the document you're editing, but in the case of English, using Grammarly for proofreading is a great way to make money online for a beginner.
3. Translating Documents and Audio
Are you bilingual or multilingual? Translation services are necessary every day. We live in a global economy where nations are entwined, and communication between multiple languages is constantly required.
If you speak more than one language, you can turn that skill into an income source. By offering your skills as a translator, you can work online from the comfort of your own home.
Depending on the language and what you're offering, you could earn between $20 and $40 per hour. If you have regular clients, you could even replace your full-time income with this online work. If you speak more exotic languages you could earn extra money.
4. Creating A Blog
Do you have something you're passionate about that you know others are passionate about as well? If you have a knack for writing or simply know what your audience is after, you could start a blog.
Blogs definitely don't have to be about personal finance, though. Some other popular blog topics include:
- Web Design
- DIY Crafts
There's really no limits to how much money you can make by blogging, and quite honestly, you could make more money than you could ever make at a full-time job if you study blogging closely and keep at it for enough time. That said, realistically speaking, less than 9% of bloggers make over $1000 per month, so if you plan to go this route, do your research and take it seriously.
With enough high-quality content created, you can make $100 per day passively through ads, affiliate marketing, products, and more.
To write a blog, you'll need a web host. I personally use Bluehost for blogging, and they're a great place to get started. Bluehost starts at $3.95 per month, and a low price like this will allow you to learn while on a budget.

Copywriting involves writing marketing content or advertisements for others. If you're savvy with wording and can write compelling content, you could work from home as a copywriter.
A skilled copywriter can make over $100 per hour. If you have the ability to write persuasive content, this might be the job for you. If you're big on writing but don't know much about copywriting, take an online course and learn more.
Writing persuasive content is always in high demand because good copy can be the make or break for large sales. In business-to-business (B2B) environments, good copy can land million-dollar transactions, which is, in part, why skilled copywriters can charge so much. Using a tool like Grammarly will help you improve your writing, which, in turn, will help you make more money copywriting.
You can also use Grammarly for any other forms of writing that you may do.
6. Video Editing
With the millions of people who use YouTube out there, so many of them either don't have the time or don't have the skill to make their videos shine. As a video editor, your job is to make videos stand out compared to your client's competitors.
You'll edit out mistakes, work on sound quality, and create effects using tools such as Adobe Premiere.
Video editors can make a wide range of money, depending on who your clients are and how good you are. Some charge as little as $30 per hour, where others charge up to $100 per hour and more.
7. Photo Editing
I learned how to use photo editing software when I played the online game Final Fantasy XIV. I set up an in-game photo studio where players would bring their characters and let me take pictures of them in their favorite in-game outfits. I would then export the image to an online editor and greatly enhance their photos.
Photo editors can earn between $30 and $80 per hour on average, which depends on your skill and niche.
8. Be A Virtual Assistant
Many small business owners need one or more virtual assistants to keep their businesses up and running 24/7. If you live in a nation where the cost of living is lower than that of America, you can offer to be a virtual assistant for an American small business owner and be paid $20-$30 USD an hour, which would translate to a lot more there. By having one busy client or a few clients in general, you can definitely make $100 per day or more.
That's why people from other countries, including ex-pats, can live well by having an online job such as being a virtual assistant.
A virtual assistant does tasks such as website updates, checking emails, responding to blog comments, managing social media, and more. The field can be highly competitive, but being a virtual assistant allows you to work anywhere you want.
9. Sell Stuff Online
E-Commerce is an enormous industry that has blown up in recent decades. Selling things on sites such as Amazon, Etsy, Shopify, eBay, and other places can earn you thousands upon thousands of dollars.
Whether you're into crafts or get into a print-on-demand business; Whether you sell printables or resell items such as collectibles that you find at local garage sales (for example).; There is an absolutely amazing market out there for selling online.
It can take time to get started. You'll want to do market research and find out what you can sell and how you'll obtain those items, but once you get going and have streamlined the process, you'll be in good shape.
My brother created the store Funny Minifigs and makes a nice side income off the site.
10. Teach Online Via Courses
Teaching online courses is an amazing way to make money. This is the most brilliant way to make money online, in my opinion. The first thing you do is to learn a lot about a specific topic. Then, using your knowledge, you'll want to create a way to aggregate it all in one place.
This is where a course comes in. By providing something of great value, you'll be able to sell your knowledge to those interested in your field. You'll essentially become versed in your field and pass that knowledge to others who were in your shoes not too long ago.
11. Fill out Online Surveys for Cash
While not the most exciting way to earn more, you can fill out surveys online from websites using your desktop or mobile device. Most online survey sites can earn you $100-$200 per month, and when you combine multiple sites together, you can earn several hundred dollars a month.
Completing online surveys requires minimal effort, and you can do it from anywhere, including while lying in bed, waiting at a doctor's office, sitting on the train, or even at work during your break!
Check out these four online survey sites:
12. Affiliate Marketing
You'll notice that every post on The Dollar Blogger has an affiliate disclosure on it. Many links on this site are affiliate links, meaning if a reader clicks through and performs some action, I am compensated. This is called affiliate marketing.
Advertisers compensate me for talking about their products and sending potential customers their way. You can do this with or without a blog, though I highly recommend using a blog or at least a landing page to do so.
To get started, you can sign up for one or more affiliate programs. I recommend the following:
In an affiliate network, you can search for providers to promote. It's a good idea to promote only a few companies at a time. This way, you're building up trust with your audience as you continue to promote the same companies.
You can promote on a blog, on Pinterest, on YouTube, or through paid advertising on places such as Facebook and Google.
If you want to promote on Pinterest and really see your commissions boost, I highly recommend Big Pin Energy, one of the best guides I've seen for Pinterest.
It covers everything from the basics of setting up Pinterest boards, how often to pin, how to write effective titles and descriptions for Pinterest SEO, and much more – all with examples. Big Pin Energy allowed me to gain 5-10 times more views and clicks. That's why I highly recommend it.
